Der Bote
The first object I ever built was a bag for my wife. Der Bote is the first new object of the return.
Der Versorger and Der Postman were two of the most carried objects in the first chapter of ESDE. Der Bote takes the best of both — and resolves what neither could do alone. Not a compromise. A synthesis. Two hands. One piece.
This piece carries an iron oxidation finish. A chemical process — iron reacting with the tannins in the leather. The result is never fully predictable. What you see in the images is just the result for now. With wear, the surface continues to shift and deepen. The oxidation becomes patina. The patina becomes the object.
